The Victorian era was filled with the images of elegance and excess. The
wonderful Santas pictured on Victorian post cards, greeting cards and
chromolithographs (or paper scrap as it was then called), were avidly collected.
These Santas originally wore white or pastel robes, and then later were shown
in rich jewel tones with rich fur trims. Santa was almost always layered with
toys, ornate beads, and golden ornaments. Angels, horses, and musical
instruments were a common theme, as were dolls. Below are 45 Santa Greetings
