Thanksgiving Greetings

This page contains my collection of Thanksgiving Greetings. Thanksgiving became a national holiday in America in 1863 by presidential proclamation. During the Victorian era it was customary for the servants of the household to be given the day off, therefore the women of the family would plan days in advance for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday to insure that all of the cooking and cleaning was completed prior to the arrival of the first guests. Then, as now, the most important custom on Thanksgiving was the gathering of family and friends, and being thankful for the togetherness the Holiday brings. Below are 11 Thanksgiving Greetings from the turn of the century. These are free for you to use, with our compliments. Click on any thumbnail and it will open a new window displaying the full size card. Additional graphic sets are available for purchase, each containing 100's of high-resolution graphics at a nominal cost.
